Chrome OS sneak peek

A neat and clean boot screen takes less than 5 secs to start.. Pretty fast and simple.. You can log in with your google account and access to any of the apps you can see in the next pic.

Here is the first screenshot of the Chromium OS. What you can see is the host key operation. Sundar(VP product marketing, Google) says that the UI will be changed in the beta release. This one is fine 'almost'. I've never loved chrome as a browser, FIREFOX still rocks..

An original post

After listening to a great lecture on originality and how Indians lack originality, I decided to come up with some great original ideas. Here I share some of them with you :

1. The Bluetooth condom : I'm thinking of inventing such a condom which can be operated directly from the phone. I think this will save people from embarrassment of putting it on in front of their special ones. Moreover we can have an alarm system, which notifies if you forget to switch it on. Further research on this is required which I am doing right now. Will post the updates soon.
   
2. A SEX jammer : we can have places with sex jammers, which can help in preventing sex in public places like offices. Like an wi-fi router, a device can be installed in the office/mall which automatically connects to all the mobile devices in that particular area. A message will be sent to the server as soon as the phone experiences jerks.
   
3. Wasex : Now this is a project which has a great potential. Like google wave we can have wave sex –wasex where people can have real time conversation or tweets with each other and one can find immediate solution to his/her sex related problems. I think this is going to change the way virgins make out.
   

   
   

There are a lot of other ideas as well. But I am not willing to post them here. Copyright has always been an issue whenever some great ideas have originated in this world.

P.S : by reading this post if you are unable to image my level of frustration, then let me tell you it has been two days since I've been waiting for google wave invites.

Howz life!!

Yesterday I was in Pune with Sankalp Sir. I visited the FTII campus and fell in love with it.If you want to be a film maker that is the only right place and the wisdom tree is the place to have new ideas..This one day is surely gonna change my life.

After having a good time with Anusha over dinner, I came back to my hotel room and started talking to sankalp sir. He told me all about socialism, capitalism and communism. It covered almost all the domains of human life... He told me that there is so much poverty in Bangladesh that people are ready to work like animals for 24 hours continuously for a mere wage of Rs.20. This long eye-opener lecture continued for almost 4 hours covering all the aspects of human life - money, religion, entertainment, happiness etc. etc. In the end I asked a really dumb question - I don't think I can change the situation sir, can I? He just smiled and then said :

Mumbai salsa

After a long time and enough of boredom, I’m back to share my experiences with two regular and one casual reader. A long post, after a long time. Let me start with 2nd June 2009 :

41 messages and 23 calls marked that I have turned 19. The most unexpected thing is that it all happened in Mumbai. 73 new notifications on facebook(which I still can’t use wisely)made it clear that I’m going to have a tough time replying them. I met Sankalp Sir that day and the confirmed internship came to be the best birthday gift ever. For the first time Mumbai seemed to be good, as I was walking on the clouds [sky walk as it is called location - bandra]. I was not at all surprised when ajinkya told me that it is a failed project, after all it is Mumbai, how can one appreciate the sense of space and calmness. I loved it as much as a Mumbaikar would hate it.

June 3rd - I was enjoying my Mumbai yatra with a guide who has no direction sense. Went to colaba and came across the oldest café I have ever visited – Leopolds. Being a Shantaram bhakta it was really nice to be there till it came to paying Rs.35 for 300ml sprite. I cursed David Roberts for mentioning the place in his book. It is a nice place if you have a big wallet/you’ve got angrej friends.

I had the best internship one could ever imagine of…. All play and no work makes shakti a grown up guy. All that gyan he gave me will be discussed in the next post.
Three things are there for sure – I’m not in love, I miss manipal the most, Media industry is a bitch.[can you beat that BABA] More of melodrama later.

P.S : It’s time to go senti as my internship is about to end and Sankalp sir is leaving for Nagpur. No more intelligent chats, musical evenings and gmail. I’m gonna miss this place…

This boring place becomes really interesting as soon as you get a controversial sms. Then you receive 10 more comments on that sms(via sms only) your phone ring seems to be a bazooka which pierces your ear drums.

No one cares how it started.. why it started?..

what matters is who started it the KAUNtext matters more than the context......

Interesting

While I kept waiting for my Open Solaris CD another week of boredom and nothingness passed. Then I remembered my blog, which used to be quite a HAPPENING place once…..okay now stop laughing. So there is a lighter post with no gyaan about ubuntu or windows.
Meanwhile, a lot of things happened. I’m ‘Beghar’ homeless for next semester. My house hunting experiences were horrible. I never thought there will be people in Manipal, who will expect you to sleep at 1. And ask you not to do ‘Galata’. Galata, is very interesting word, though I could not trace the origin of the word(it’s probably tullu) but, it is interesting. It covers all the things you would like to do on a normal weekend. Like playing loud music, shouting, fighting with your friends/neighbors and drinking. The only conditions he had before renting the house to us was ‘Galata nai karne ka.’ The landlord is a KMC staff and I think he is so accustomed to the hospital environment that he wants patients for his house as well. (hope you got the joke).

Farewell party is over, bye-bye seniors. Will miss some of them. After every party, when I have to carry drunk people home I think drinking is a good habit if all your friends are drunkards. They only have hangover the next day. But you are worried whole night if they would reach home ALIVE. And if you have to carry a real heavy person, you will understand what I mean by body pain. I have always known people who become very interesting after drinking. But this time I met a person who remains the same. This friend of mine is as irritating and annoying after drinking as she is normally. I hope she is reading this post, this message is for you only STOP whining.

Okay chuck it. There are other important things in life.

Studies : I have not read even a single book this semester. I started reading Thousand Splendid Suns in march and it’s still half way through.

Love : I’m desperately searching for love. That too blind love with no ego problems at all.

Why? Because I need someone to keep visiting my blog. Keep pressing F5 every two minutes. I would love to see my hit counter showing 250 hits a day.

Health/Fitness : I have lost my appetite, body weight as well. I can’t believe all my body parts are paining just because I did 10 push-ups, 20 sit-ups and 1.5 Km of running. Now it’s hard even to imagine that I used to be an athlete in school. I think baba is right ‘Ab Umar ho gaya hai’.

Friends : I have most useless and annoying people around me. Playing cards is not the only way of entertainment. GET A LIFE!!!!

Note : When you are bored do not watch movies they are of no use. I saw four movies back to back, which was of no help.

Enough!!!

Bluetooth-3

Finally, the arrival of Bluetooh 3 has been made official. According to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group Bluetooth 3 will be launched on April 21st. It's supposed to provide a much better speed via 802.11 connectivity.

While wait for the proper ultra-wideband technology is on... the great speed of Bluetooth 3 is most welcome.

Firefox 3.1 Beta disappoints

I was really happy while writing for the last post. Mozilla launching it's 3.1 beta just after IE 8 was fun. I was looking forward for more features and better pre-installed plug-ins. But I must say that Firefox 3.1 Beta disappoints on all fronts. First of all let me tell you about the new features that firefox 3.1 offers. It's the special character search function (developers, you really think people were waiting for such a feature?? complete waste of time folks). Now you can search your browsing history and bookmarks using special characters such as *,^,+ etc.
Not all that interesting, but please give it a try... You may like it. And make firefox people more hopeful. They have already blabbered a lot about this feature on their website. If you want to read all that please follow the link

Now you can open a new window from a existing tab just by dragging it outside the new tab region. This makes it comfortable to organize your browser tabs and windows if you are googling something :)
And now even firefox has got a private browsing environment but it is not as interesting as the IE 8 InPrivate.
Some of the other features are that it uses less space on the hard disk and comes with all new javascript and activeX content plug in.

And for all this Firefox is registering developers to test its new product. That way even I have updated my portfolio website. Beta testers required :) please check it out. comments and suggestions are welcome....

FIREFOX 3.1 Beta on test run

Aaha!! My favorite browser launches it's new beta version 3.1. It's on a test run right now. To download latest version please click here. This new version is not much different than the older version of firefox although but it's still undergoing changes. Will upload the snapshots and other details soon. Till then lemme play with BABY. :)

Internet Explorer -8

Microsoft has just updated it's web browser to Internet explorer - 8. All you geeks out there who preferred using Firefox just because it gave you a detailed history list, just try this microsoft baby and you will fall for it. All those people who love google and google products here is microsoft's answer to it. (even I love google but not chrome). Main reasons for hating chrome are :
1. Downloading it becomes a pain in the neck, as the file size is big and requires online support to download.
2. The interface is good but some important buttons are very hard to find.
Comparisons apart. Check out the new features :
The most amazing and completely fresh feature is the Inprivate browser. Now you can search for free **** and you do not need to worry about any search history. Cookie or cache files.. I'm in love with this feature.
Now chrome and firefox lovers here is something which you will also like a detailed browsing history menu.. It's lot more easier to surf back and forward now, if you have navigated to an unwanted page by mistake.

You get a detailed browsing history on the left hand side of the browser which is just awesome. Adding a page to favourite and bookmarking it is not required anymore.

My favourite on the firefox browser was its feature to surf unknown sites which suit your interest, now that microsoft has a bigger and better database it's much more fun visiting completely new and better sites.

5. Now all the help is just one click away from you. You just don't need to type that long addresses every time. just move your cursor to the right hand side of the browser and you get them all. All this for free----you were expecting for more....
then wait till the next update of chrome ha ha ha

Dev D. try not falling in love

This season try not falling in love says the trailer of the movie Dev D. I tried hard and failed happily. I'm in love with the movie completely. The music is addicting, visuals are at par with the hollywood ones. A first of it's kind Dev D. is a must watch.

Mujhe laga ki ab tak bijlee ki haalat sudharane ke liye buddhijiviyon ne kucch to kiya hoga lekin mujhe nirasha hi haath lagi. Dobara jab main bijlee ji se baat karne gaya to mujhe woh mentos ka prachar karte nazaar aaye, mujhe laga shayad mentos waale humare sahakaryabhari hain parantu aisa nahin hai. Shayad abhi tak bijlee ke karamdharo ke dimag ki batti abhi tak nahin jali hai. Bijlee bhai aapse aagrah hai ki kripya aise kaam band karien aur agar asli badlav lana hai to dikhava chhod kar asli kaam karien.

BIJLEE BOLA PAR AAWAZ NAHIN AAYI

Bijlee bahut dino se bol raha hai, lekin na to bijlee apne liye kucch bol raha hai na kucch kar hi pa raha hai. Lagta hai ki bijlee abhi bhi utna hi asahay hai. Dhara-19 ka prayojan to hai par lagta nahin hai ki bijlee poori swacchandata se apni baat bol pa raha hai.

Lagta hai bijlee yeh batane mein laga hai ki Rahul Bose ek mahapurush hai jinhone aaj tak koi awadh sambandh nahin banaye. Kyunki jis samsayik mudde ke liye Bijlee ka janm hua hai, ya yun kahein ki karvaya gaya hai woh kahin bhi poora hota nahin jaan padta hai. Agar abhi se bijlee ki bachat shuru nahin ki gayi to shayad ek ghante ke liye battiyan band karne ki naubat hi na aaye kyunki tab tak shayad bijlee ka ant ho chuka hoga. Ab mujhe bhi viraam lena chahiye kyunki mera godvasit computer bhi bahut bijlee kha raha hai.
